Client challenge

This non-profit client sought to enhance its user experience by migrating to Salesforce Lightning and optimizing existing workflows. The transition to the standard Salesforce object model, updating Marketing Cloud to align with the changes, and implementing other Salesforce enhancements were necessary to help the client fully leverage the platform’s capabilities.

Our solution

Valtree provided program leadership, functional consulting, development, and quality assurance throughout this project. We guided the organization in migrating from the Salesforce Classic interface to the Lightning Experience by refining and optimizing page layouts from custom Visualforce pages, converting custom buttons, and transitioning to files. During this process, the Valtree team moved toward the standard object model by separating data from Accounts and introducing Leads and Opportunities, along with their respective processes. We updated over 50 reports to align with the new object model and created dynamic dashboards to eliminate 1,300 reports and 12 dashboards, improving data accessibility and clarity for client teams. The optimization process also included updating integrations with Marketing Cloud, architecture, and existing journeys to support the new data model. Lastly, we facilitated the client’s marketing team in transitioning from MailChimp to Marketing Cloud. Through close collaboration with each team, our Salesforce consulting expertise ensured an enhanced user experience. With the standard data model as our guide, we empowered the client to scale further and maximize their investment in the platform, even after their engagement with Valtree.

Results

Now that the client is utilizing standard and up-to-date functionality, the system can scale without the need for custom development. It can seamlessly leverage Salesforce releases and integrate with third-party apps. This enhances the connection with Marketing Cloud and opens up future opportunities for optimization with Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.
