Client challenge
With six distribution centers and five order-to-cash systems supporting a single sector, customers faced numerous challenges, such as needing to:
- Set up multiple contracts to access all required products,
- Place separate orders for different products, and
- Manage multiple invoices and shipments.
The goal was to streamline operations by consolidating all distribution centers and order-to-cash systems. This would allow customers to place a single order, receive one invoice, and manage only one shipment.
Our solution
Valtree facilitated a workshop with the client’s business and IT leaders to identify major customer pain points, their root causes, potential solutions, and key metrics. We also developed an iGrafx simulation of both the current and future state of the end-to-end order-to-invoice process to validate the benefits of the program with each release. Additionally, our consultants updated the consolidated process flows based on the workshop and simulation results to emphasize the changes in key metrics after each project release.
Results
Through our engagement, we uncovered $3.9 million in savings from shipment consolidation and $2.3 million in savings from manual order consolidation.
