Client challenge
For years, the bank had effectively utilized Crew’s talent development program in areas like product management, business analysis, and data analytics. However, following the pandemic and the wave of resignations, a significant gap in engineering talent emerged, becoming a major challenge across the organization. As the demand for software engineers surged and the available talent pool dwindled, the bank recognized the urgent need to develop a future leadership pipeline in this vital field. With the success of the existing program and the growing talent shortage in technology, the bank partnered with Crew to build a pipeline of future leaders.
Our solution
Valtree Corporation assembled a team of twelve highly skilled software engineers, each bringing a specific set of expertise tailored to meet the bank’s technological needs:
- Three .Net developers with a focus on corporate trust web platforms
- Three Java developers specialized in wealth management platforms
- Three developers and one Scrum Master contributing to the capital markets sector
- Two Java developers dedicated to corporate trust and digital initiatives

Before embarking on their assignments, the consultants participated in an intensive two-week onboarding program, meticulously designed to align with the bank’s development standards. This program, which integrated seamlessly with Valtree’s renowned consultant training, equipped the team for success. Additionally, the cohort engaged in monthly training sessions and collaborated closely on-site, sharing knowledge and insights related to their projects and roles.
The Valtree consultants brought a diverse range of technical skills to the table, including expertise in .Net, DataCap, Java, Spring Boot, React, open-source technologies, Microservices, Jenkins CI/CD pipeline, SQL, and AWS. They took ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of top-tier software products. With a strong foundation in agile development and DevOps practices, the team consistently delivered production-ready, testable code while focusing on user-centric design and coding. Through regular code reviews, they offered valuable feedback on engineering best practices, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Their work supported the bank’s technology transformation by embracing cutting-edge technologies and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Results
By the time the pilot program reached its one-year milestone, the entire cohort remained highly engaged and successful. One consultant had seamlessly transitioned into a full-time role before the year ended, two others were offered full-time positions at the client after one year, and eight more had their contracts extended with plans for potential future conversions. This strong and lasting partnership between our client and Crew positions the bank to continue nurturing engineering excellence and strategic talent development in software development and beyond.
