Software Engineering Associate
My background is quite unique – I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory (and still perform professionally several times a year!), a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary (where I serve as a part-time pastor), and software engineering training through Harvard’s CS50x and Thinkful’s online bootcamp. I became a part of Crew in June 2022 as a Software Engineering Associate.
I’m part of a talented team of three developers working on a full-stack web application that supports internal developers at Charter. We are a vital part of Charter’s order-taking system, where customers sign up for cable, phone, and internet services. Our tech stack includes Typescript, React, NodeJS, GraphQL (which I personally learned and helped build), Express, and both MongoDB and SQL Server.
One of the aspects I enjoy most about my development role is being able to bring a fresh perspective to the products we create. I’ve had the opportunity to offer several ideas that have been successfully implemented into the application!
The highlight of my workday is our team standups—not because of the progress reports, but because I truly enjoy interacting and collaborating with my team.
Outside of work, I’m a proud father of two (adorable) toddlers under the age of three. I’m also an avid movie lover with a collection of over 1,000 DVDs and Blu-rays, not to mention an entire wall of my office dedicated to my book collection!
